Vision
About ASMC
Our parent organization is The Autism Society of North Carolina and we are the Moore County Chapter (ASMC). We provide opportunities for parents, families and individuals on the spectrum to learn more about local resources and options.
ASMC, the organization, was established by a small group of parents in Southern Pines, NC who wanted to become more knowledgeable about autism and improve the quality of life for their children. In August of 2007, the organization received its chapterhood, through the hard work of Rita Pena and Maryann Sarno.
The programs and activities of the organization are designed to inform and educate parents/caregivers and professionals, and provide referral, resource information, and opportunities for families. We help families find appropriate services through collaboration with numerous agencies within the county.
Through support groups, support parents, and parent education programs, the organizationalso provides families the opportunity by which to meet other families and professionals in the community, thereby affording them the ability to develop a network of support based on their individual needs. Coverned by parents and professionals of individuals with autism, the Autism Society of North Carolina, Moore County Chapter remains family-driven.
